Name: Sharon Darby

When you started in TRIgirl: Charter Member.
Why
you TRIgirl:
I
am addicted to training with all of my gal pals. The events are just icing on the cake!
Your family (or with whom do you reside?):
The Darby family has our own nation and these are the members: Sharon – President (of course); Gary – Member-at-large (he would say “non voting member”); Anna, 20 – Olympic Development Team (because she is fearless – Also a VT Hokie); Alex, 18– Seamstress Laureate (because he took Life Skills in Middle School and sewed a pillow – Soon to be VCU Ram); Adam, 13 – Vice President (because he is my “favorite”); Grace, 7 (the good dog) – Head of Homeland Security (because she is very protective of the President); Artemis, 3 (the beagle) – Secretary of State (because she always wants to travel around the neighborhood into other nations); George, 5 (the cat) – Secretary of Defense (because he is always on the look out for suspicious looking squirrels and rodents).
What
do you do for work?
Vice President of Operations at Children's Hospital (Specialty hospital for children with temporary and lifelong illnesses or conditions)
The best meal you cook:
I make a mean chicken pot pie but mostly try to limit my exposure to cooking.
What you'll be seen wearing most frequently:
A bra (you won't actually see it but you know I have it on!!)
Favorite quote:
I live by “I am not afraid of storms for I have learned how to sail my ship” Louisa May Alcott
What you are reeading now?
A Thousand Splendid Suns by Khaled Hosseini.
Current favorite CD or IPOD download:
Amy Winehouse's CD (just wish she weren't so messed up!!) and must disclose (or Mary Tog. will disclose for me) that I am a huge Pink fan. I have all of her CD's!!
Something you have accomplished in your life that
you thought you could/would have not been able
to do (not triathlon):
I wake up everyday thinking that I must be dreaming that I am the mother of three children. Not to mention, three fabulously, wonderful people worth knowing. I keep thinking I'll get used to it but it has been 20 years and I am still feel the same way.
Your indulgences:
SHOES Triathlon related: Coffee with TRIGirls (what happens at Starbucks stays at Starbucks!)
Goals for next season:
IRONMAN FLORIDA (or bust!) I am going to complete all four levels of triathlons on my journey to IMFL.
Favorite race and why:
Without a doubt . . . Eagleman . . . because I completed it!! It may not be official but I was fairly confident I won (just ask anyone I met . . . I kept telling them I was the winner!!)
